The long awaited and highly anticipated Dogs Collection has finally arrived. A brand new bold and vibrant collection showcasing everything we love about our four-legged friends. Featuring new characters that will soon become firm favourites in the Lucy Pittaway collection.
Inspired by Lucy's passion for dogs, this collection is a reflection on the themes of friendship, family and fun as we enjoy life with our furry companions.
My love for animals started at a young age, I was always around dogs, cats, rabbits, chickens, and sheep; but dogs were always my favourite, I feel very relaxed around them. It’s a special bond you have with a dog, and they have a natural ability to read your emotions and lift your spirits. Dogs have always been part of my life and having had many breeds over the years, I've reminisced about their unique characters as I created this collection. From our current Jack Russell who loves nothing more than mountain climbing or paddle boarding, to working Cocker Spaniels and Labradors. Some of them even make an appearance in the collection.
This collection was a challenge for me as an artist, but I’ve loved every minute of it. Dogs are very different to sheep, and I wanted to do justice to each piece and the unique personalities of each subject. I kept catching myself smiling as I was working on them, and I’m really happy with the final outcome. My hope is that it’s another body of work that brings people joy when they see it. It is relatable for those with and without dogs, as they show themes of family and friendship. There’s so much more to come with the collection, this is only the beginning.
